Max Allan Collins



Max Allan Collins (nato il 3 marzo 1948 ) è uno scrittore americano. Ha scritto romanzi , sceneggiature , fumetti, figurine , racconti, novelizations di film e fiction storiche.
Collins ha studiato l’ Iowa Writers' Workshop presso University of Iowa. Collins vive a Muscatine, Iowa, con sua moglie, la scrittrice Barbara Collins, e il figlio, Nathan.
Ha co-fondato International Association of Media Tie-in Writers con Lee Goldberg . Il IAMTW è un'organizzazione per gli scrittori di tie -in e novelizations .

Collins dall'infanzia era un fan dello scrittore Mickey Spillane, successivamente i due diventano amici. I due hanno collaborato per una serie a fumetti nel 1990 chiamata Mike Danger . Alla morte di Spillane nel 2006, a Collins sono state affidate alcune opere non completate da Spillane per essere concluse.

Collins ha espanso la serie tv Dark Angel scrivendone un prequel e due sequel, la cui conclusione e basata sulla storia programmata per la terza stagione. Ha anche scritto libri e fumetti basati sulla serie TV franchise CSI. Più di recente, ha scritto un libro, Buried Deep, sulla base delle serie TV Bones.
Il suo romanzo grafico, Era mio padre, è stato trasformato in un lungometraggio DreamWorks con Tom Hanks e Paul Newman, diretto da Sam Mendes.

Oltre al suo lavoro di scrittore, Collins ha anche scritto e diretto alcuni film alcuni sono prodotti in modo indipendente nella sua città natale, Muscatine, Iowa. Collins ha inoltre scritto ed eseguito musica con la sua rock band, Crusin '.
